 Mr. Howell has earned a reputation among leaders in business as the "go-to" person in New England for strategic communications counsel. He has been recognized as one of New England's most effective and successful public relations specialists by Boston Magazine, The Boston Business Journal and other publications.
Mr. Howell has provided public relations counsel to brand named clients such as Atlantic Richfield, Boston Medical Center, Comcast, GlaxoSmithKline, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, Microsoft, National Grid, Shields MRI, and the University of Massachusetts. Before forming Howell Communications in 1995, Mr. Howell served as campaign manager to Governor William F. Weld’s successful 1994 re-election effort, engineering the largest gubernatorial victory in modern Massachusetts history. Prior to that, he served as Governor Weld’s press secretary and communications director. Before entering public service, Mr. Howell covered government and politics as a reporter for several regional newspapers. A graduate of Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Mr. Howell is a frequent speaker on communications issues to business, political and academic audiences. He has taught communications at both Boston University and Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. |
